No One Ever Reads That Stuff

Preface: There is an "Add to iTunes as a Spoken Track" service in Snow Leopard that converts selected text to speech and sends it to iTunes.

Today I went for my weekly freebies in iTunes and was presented with one of those "iTUNES STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS" pages that come up from time to time. Most people agree to the new conditions, and proceed to download their tracks without reading that document. I include myself in that group of most people.

But this time I thought it might be fun to capture the text and let "Alex" read it to me later.

The audio file I got was two hours, sixteen minutes, and forty-one seconds long. No wonder no one ever reads that stuff!

NCC-Mac March Meeting Reminder

The Next meeting of the North Curry County Macintosh Users is Thursday, March 25, 6:00 PM (!) at the Langlois Library. He who is "retarded and shouldn't own a computer" will be demonstrating ScreenRecycler, an interesting utility that can get an old Mac (or PC) back into "useful again" mode.

...and he thinks he can run a user group!

I posted a negative review of a Mac software product on MacUpdate and VersionTracker. Here is a response I got on VersionTracker:

"I see that you also posted on Macupdate with the same text. Have you contacted their tech support or do you feel that its better to be a winy (sic) little *censored*? Do the world a favor and box up your computer, send to 1 Inifinite (sic) Loop with a note stating...I'm retarded and shouldn't own a computer!"
